Well somebody is eventually gonna have to talk about them. Any criticizing? This is probably the most likely place where someone would talk about student gov. Anyways I know a lot the officers of them and I think its a little biased when they choose who becomes elected. So is the ones who get elected really the best candidates? Anyways pretty soon application to run for next year is coming soon.

I agree i think its biased as well. I think people would rather their friend be put into office then a person who is experience. Its not like it benefits them if their friend is in office anyways.

Currently being in Student Government, I don't think its as biased as it seems. Depending on the grade, most grades only have a certain number of people running. People aren't even running against other people. So, you can't really say its biased when there is no other person there to be biased against. Another thing, most of the Student Government are proud of being Mustangs and want to increase Mustang Spirit, and that's all thats really important of being a Student Government (other than making money for the class, which we also do!)

True, i agree with nathan although it can be a popularity contest sometimes, but in freshman year, theres really no such thing as being popular, and the student body relaly does hav a lot of mustang spirit.

It is true that the student government does have great mustang spirit and spent a great deal of time and dedication into their work. The do stress into organizing events. But how often do they actually take time to analyze whats been going on at Lincoln? Do they actually do other stuff than raise money for dances? It seems that student gov is simply filled with people that care all about making great dances. Not to say this is everyone but it is a great fraction of the people.

well, put it this way. Student Government as a whole is supposed to represent all of the Lincoln students. However, there is a difference between ASB and Class Officers. As being ASB, your job is to represent as a school leader. As a class officer, your job is to represent your class. To represent your class, the only thing to do is to raise money. no doubt about it. Being in ASB however is totally different, and I have totally no control over what they do.

That school is on top of everything and not just dances. They have every single meeting with a written report so that the students know about what is going on. Lately they are deciding to spend $3000 to purchase 6 new bike racks for the school. I have been talking about this stuff to Jonathan Chan last year and hoped that decision like that can happen in Lincoln. If you are a real student government person in any high school I believe that something like this is seriously important to consider. If we had tree huggers, community volunteers that run are in student gov Lincoln will be a better school. I always wanted to be in student government but go busy with helping the school with tech. Now I find no point in joining since it is so biased and corrupt. This is what I, and probably others at our school needs to say to Student gov.

First of all, we TOTALLY would do all that crap. Only thing though is that everything revolves around money, and right now, there is no "creative" way to get some dough in the pocket. Everything is so played out. and YEAH! Next year is gonna change, and DEFINITELY the year after that cause I'm hoping to take charge.

Well you should never be afraid of being criticized, thats how you get better. If I was scared of getting criticized I would never make a website.
